AFL ŷ��AV manages all Trainee administrative services over the duration of a Traineeship. We will support you every step of the way with a dedicated Field Officer to assist you with the work placement and ensure success and a dedicated Educator who will keep you updated on the progress of your Trainee’s education.

We do it all, so teachers can get on with the job of teaching.

• What does the AFL have to do with this?

• WHO EMPLOYS THE TRAINEE?

  AFL ŷ��AV remains your trainee’s legal employer, however, the Trainee will be “hosted” at your place of business and will work for you.

• WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS AVAILABLE TO MY SCHOOL?

  As the legal employer, AFL ŷ��AV takes care of all administrative matters including payroll, superannuation, WorkCover and the arrangement of the educational components of the Traineeship as well as recruitment.

• WHO SELECTS THE TRAINEE TO WORK IN MY SCHOOL?

  AFL ŷ��AV will consult directly with you on your school’s needs and the qualities you are seeking in a Trainee. We will then shortlist applicants based on the identified criteria and present these to you for your consideration and your final decision. You have the final say in who gets the job.

• what course will be suitable and how is the education organised as part of the traineeship program ?

  AFL ŷ��AV will work with the host employer to determine the most suitable qualification based on the duties the Trainee will undertake.  A dedicated AFL ŷ��AV Educator will host regular training sessions to support the Trainee to achieve their qualification. 

• WHAT IS THE COST OF TAKING ON A TRAINEE (superannuation / wages / registration/ workcover and education)

  As the Trainee’s legal employer, AFL ŷ��AV pays the Trainee and manages all of their leave, superannuation, education/qualification and WorkCover.

  Costs vary on when the Trainee completed high school and their qualification.

  For a recent school leaver, you can expect to pay from $21.77 per hour* + GST for the Trainee. This cost includes salary, superannuation, education fees, WorkCover and our support staff.

  Host employers may be eligible to receive incentive payments at 6 months of the Traineeship for a total of $1,750 payment back to you.

  The cost for Trainees can often be paid for from project budgets rather than headcount which offers enormous flexibility to Principals! *Subject to Government changes to the National Training Wage.
